EXCELLENT stay near Kyoto Station!

I appreciated the proximity to Kyoto Station. Transportation was so easy. The staff were very polite and spoke English fluently, I never felt lost in translation! Breakfast offered both western and eastern options, my tastebuds were definitely satisfied. EVERYTHING tasted fresh. The onsen was good after long days. It provided amazing relaxation.
The gym equipment was a bit outdated. I found some rust spots. It would be awesome to see some updates there.

the hotel is conveniently near the train station, so it's easy to get around. i also found a huge shrine right across the road, a nice surprise. it made exploring the area very straightforward for me.
the cleanliness left something to be desired. i spotted a spider web and some dust in my room, it looked like my room wasn't in use for a while. the floor was wet and covered by hairs in the public bath, i had to clean it before using it.

The baths were very nice, especially the larger one! The experience surpassed that of a previous ryokan stay. Our kids enjoyed a twin room with ample space for two bags. The rooms included tea. It provided a refreshing and welcome change.
The onsen sides alternated daily between female and male. One side featured a sauna, a cold plunge, and a natural lava rock hot spring. The other was a small pool. I detected the scent of smoke daily in the hallways and it GAVE me migraines. Daily cleaning was not performed. I had to request fresh towels after two days.

The room was dusty with stains on the walls. Laundry facilities were not properly maintained. The machines did not work.
